Howdy folks, we recently took a trip down to sunny south Florida for our family summer vacation and we decided to head on over to South Beach in Miami. It was a great place with lots of rich history and great places to eat especially over at Ocean drive.
We spent a few days there to enjoy the scenery and then made our way up to Fort Lauderdale to visit my buddy and his family out there. He owns an HVAC business Http://fortlauderdalehvacpros.com
So, one of the first places we visited in Fort Lauderdale was Las Olas Blvd and we did lunch at Sushi Song and had the best sushi you in South Florida hands down. Their dragon role was amazing and the service was absolutely fantastic. The next day we went to the Museum of discovery science with the kids and had a blast there. They were thoroughly enjoying all of their time. There was this really cool hurricane wind simulator that the kids loved and also this space simulator that you could go in and ride on.
My baby girl really loved the sea otter area, and the cool safari type ride at the museum.
On our final day, we took our trip to Sawgrass recreation park and went on an airboat ride in the Everglades in the morning and even saw an alligator or two. It was quite fascinating and a bit hot, but that’s Florida weather for ya.
In the afternoon we took to the Stranahan house museum, Fort Lauderdale’s oldest residence dating all the way back to the early 1900’s. It was built by Frank Stranahan the city’s first school teacher. After our last excursion, we went over to Riverwalk, had lunch and called it a day and got ready for our flight the next morning.
